Announcing: 2027 Winter Cover Design Contest

Calling all Artists! Design the Cover of Piano Inspires Kids

The Winter 2027 issue will explore sonatinas and sonatas, and we are inviting our Piano Inspires Kids readers to design the cover! One of the most famous sonatas is “Moonlight Sonata” by Ludwig van Beethoven. Show us how this sonata inspires you with your pictures and graphic designs! 

Submission Deadline: November 1, 2026.

Go to kids.pianoinspires.com/submit to submit your artwork.

Submit the following four items by the deadline:

  • Drawing or graphic design of the video game character
  • Short description of the game character and theme song; how does the theme song fit the character? (maximum 100 words)
  • Composition score
  • Video performance of the work, performed by the composer

The Winter 2027 cover contest is open for all entries, regardless of subscription status.

  • Must be hand drawn or created using graphic design software, solely owned by the student. 
  • Must not be generated through artificial intelligence. 
  • Must not contain images or text that are discriminatory or defamatory. 
  • Must not contain trademarked materials or intellectual property. 
  • Once received are the property of Piano Inspires Kids and can be used, modified, published, and displayed at the discretion of the publication, in print and online. No compensation will be given for any submission. 
  • Must be submitted as a high resolution pdf or jpg file, 300 DPI preferred.

Be prepared to answer the following questions: 

  • Student Name
  • Student Age
  • Picture of Student
  • Up to 35 words about Student
  • Picture of Artwork
  • Title of Artwork
  • What inspired Student to create the picture
  • Parent/Guardian Name(s)
  • Parent/Guardian Email
  • Parent/Guardian Address
  • Parent/Guardian Phone Number
  • Piano Teacher Name
  • Piano Teacher Email

  • The magazine reserves the right to select one winner, more than one winner, or no winner. 
  • The judges’ decisions are final.
